I mentioned while we were in Florida about my new fixation with smoothies. This is a seasonable addition to the menu with a heathy dose of strawberries. Oats bulk up the smoothie and make it filling, and the peanut butter adds a great creaminess. If you know me, you know I drink cranberry concentrate on a daily basis. Cranberry concentrate is much different than cranberry cocktail, and you can tell the difference by taking a quick look at the nutrition label. Concentrate will have about 8 grams of sugar per serving versus 32 grams in cocktail. Cranberry concentrate is a great addition to a person’s diet: it’s a boost of antioxidants, a surprising source of fiber, and is a great aid in digestion. You can find it for just $3.99 a bottle in Trader Joe’s or in the naturals section of most grocery stores. It’s a relatively inexpensive addition that makes a delicious smoothie beneficial for your body as well.
